IHSAA boys and girls soccer sectionals kickoff this week, and this is the place to get updates on teams from the Bloomington, Bedford and Martinsville areas.

Monday, Oct. 6
Boys: 3A At Mooresville
Bloomington South 2, Bloomington North 0
Martinsville 8, Terre Haute South 0: Charlie Rawlins had a four-goal night in the rain as the Artesians (14-1-1) cruised by the Braves (5-11). Martinsville had four goals in each half.
Boys: 3A at Floyd Central
Floyd Central 6, Seymour 3: Owls had a 2-0 lead at halftime before the Highlanders (7-8-2) came back and tied it at 3 to send it to overtime, then added three more to pull away.
Jeffersonville 9, Jennings County 0: Red Devils (13-3-1) roll into semifinals after a four-goal first half.
Boys: 2A at Cascade
Edgewood 4, Brown County 0: Kade Gilchrist had a hat trick giving him a school record 35 on the season as the Mustangs (12-3) advanced to the semifinals. Quincy Morwick had the other goal.
Cascade 9, Monrovia 1: Cadets (9-6-1) went up 4-1 by half and finished off the winless Bulldogs.
Boys: 2A at South Vermillion
Owen Valley 2, Sullivan 0: The Patriots (6-9-1) finally broke through, winning their first sectional game since 2004 (a 3-2 win over BNL back in the single class days). Patriots will take on state-ranked Greencastle at 5 p.m. pn Wednesday.
Greencastle 5, West Vigo 0: No. 17 Tiger Cubs (14-1-1) post ninth shutout of the season to advance.
Boys: 1A at White River Valley
Eastern Greene 5, Mitchell 3: HIstory made as T-Birds (7-6-2) win first ever sectional game. Griff Hengeveld had a hat trick, giving him 17 goals on the season. Ethan Moffitt had a goal and assist and Jett Blais scored as well. Keeper Caden McCormick came up with nine saves.
Lighthouse Christian 4, Shoals 1: Lions (8-5-2) took a 2-1 lead by halftime and held on with no problems to advance.
Tuesday, Oct. 7
Girls: 3A at Martinsville
Martinsville 2, Bedford North Lawrence 0: The Artesians (2-15) hadn’t won since Sept. 10 and had scored just five goals all season, but scored a goal in each half to down the Stars (4-11-2)
Bloomington South 9, Terre Haute North 0: No. 9 Panthers (12-2-3) broke it open early with eight first-half goals to advance to a semifinal meeting with Martinsville on Thursday. Helena Cutshall and Maddie Norman each had hat tricks with Val Bunde adding two goals and Ava Surdam the other. South has posted six straight shutouts.
Girls: 2A at Danville
Danville 4, Edgewood 1
Northview 7, Cascade 1
Girls: 2A at Monrovia
Brown County 4, Greenwood Christian 1: Eagles (5-4-2) advance to a semifinal match on Thursday vs. Triton Central.
Wednesday, Oct. 8
Boys: 3A at Mooresville
Bloomington South 1, Martinsville 0
Mooresville 1, Terre Haute North 0: Pioneers (6-9-1) pull off the upset to advance.
Boys: 3A at Floyd Central
Jeffersonville 2, Floyd Central 1
Bedford North Lawrence 0, New Albany 0 (BNL wins on PKs, 4-2): Dramatic win for Stars (6-9-1) after a scoreless 80 minutes of regulation and two overtime periods.PKs were tied 2-2 before BNL hit its last two to win and advance to the final vs. Jeffersonville (14-3-1).
Boys: 2A at Cascade
Cascade 4, Edgewood 1: Three-goal first half lifted the Cadets (10-6-1) into the finals. Edgewood finishes its best season in a while at 12-4.
Danville 3, Indian Creek 0
Boys: 2A at South Vermillion
Greencastle 7, Owen Valley 0: Micah Foss scored five goals in the first half to break it open for the state-ranked Tiger Cubs (15-1-1), who led 6-0 by the break. Owen Valley finishes 6-10-1.
Northview 6, South Vermillion 1
Boys: 1A at White River Valley
Eastern Greene 3, Lighthouse Christian 1: Eastern Greene, a third-year program, picked up its second postseason win in program history as Griff Hengeveld had two goals, Aiden Jones scored and Ethan Moffitt had two assists. Caden McCormick had 11 saves. The T-Birds (8-6-2) will play for their first sectional title on Saturday at 2 p.m. against state ranked White River Valley. The Lions finish up 8-6-2.
White River Valley 7, Bloomfield 1
Girls: 2A at Monrovia
Monrovia 13, Indianapolis Washington 0: Bulldogs (14-3) had no problems as expected, ending the contest early by mercy rule against the winless Continentals and advancing to the semifinals.
Hauser 7, Providence Cristo Rey 0: Jets (4-11-1) pick up first ever sectional win.
Thursday, Oct. 9
Girls: 3A at Martinsville
Bloomington South 9, Martinsville 0
Terre Haute South 3, Bloomington North 0
Girls: 2A at Danville
Danville 6, Northview 2
West Vigo 2, Owen Valley 0: Patriots (2-10) put just one shot on goal in shutout loss. Vikings (11-5) scored once each half.
Girls: 2A at Monrovia
Triton Central 4, Brown County 0
Monrovia 11, Hauser 0: Bulldogs (14-3) get seven goals from the nation’s top scorer, Nellie Standeford, in the blowout win. She has 62 on the season.
Saturday, Oct. 11
Boys: 3A at Mooresville
Championship: Bloomington South 7, Mooresville 0:
Boys: 3A at Floyd Central
Championship: Jeffersonville 5, Bedford North Lawrence 0: A five-gola first half was plenty as the Red Devils (15-3-1) rolled to their first title since 2012. Stars finish (6-10-1).
Boys: 1A at White River Valley
Championship: White River Valley 4, Eastern Greene 0: T-Birds finish 8-7-2 after making first ever title game appearance.
Girls: 3A at Martinsville
Championship, Bloomington South 5, Terre Haute South 1
Girls: 1A at Monrovia
Championship: Monrovia 1, Triton Central 1 (Monrovia wins on PKs, 2-1): Nellie Standeford punched in the winning kick in PKs for the Bulldogs (15-3), who won a fourth straight title. Monrovia advances to play No. 1 Oldenburg Academy at home on Thursday in the regional semifinals.
