EVANSVILLE — The Evansville area is gearing up to celebrate America’s 250th birthday on July 4 with parades and fireworks displays.
There events leading up to the day, on the day and after for families to enjoy.
Where and when can I watch fireworks?
Oakland City
Oakland City fireworks show and celebration., June 27 from noon to 9 p.m.
There will be live music, food trucks and activities at Wirth Park in Oakland City. There will be fireworks visible over the golf course.
Evansville
Fireworks on the Ohio in Evansville, July 4. Activities begin at 6 p.m. and fireworks about 9:15 p.m. Free.
Evansville will host its annual fireworks celebration July 4. There will be more than 25 food trucks, as well as kids activities available prior to the fireworks display.
Newburgh
Fireworks over the Burgh in Newburgh, July 3. 6 to 10 p.m. Free.
Newburgh will celebrate on July 3 with food trucks, live music and activities prior to the fireworks display.
Henderson, Kentucky
Independence Day Celebration in Henderson, July 3. 5 to 9:45 p.m. Free.
Food vendors open at 5 p.m., along with kid’s activities. Live music will start at 6:30 p.m., and fireworks around 9:15 p.m.
Princeton
Princeton, July 5, 6 to 10 p.m. $2 per carload. Walk-ins free.
Princeton will host its fireworks July 5 at the Gibson County Fairgrounds. Admission is $2 for carloads and free for walk-ins. Gates open at 6 p.m. and the fireworks start at sundown. Some concessions will be available as the Gibson County Fair starts the next day.
Rockport
Rockport, July 4. Fireworks begin at dusk. 930 Fairground Drive.
Rockport will host a car show, live music and fireworks. There will also be food available.
Mount Vernon
Mount Vernon Riverfront, July 6 from 5 to 9 p.m.
Mount Vernon will host its Fourth of July celebration from 5 to 9 p.m. July 6 on the riverfront. There will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Food vendors will serve from 5 to 9 p.m. The fireworks will begin about dusk.
Are there parades this year?
Warrick County
Newburgh, July 3 at 10 a.m.
The parade will take place at 10 a.m. July 3. The route begins at Titzer Funeral Home, heads east on Jennings, and north on State Street to the Newburgh Museum.
Gibson County
Princeton, July 4 from noon to 2 p.m.
The Gibson County Chamber of Commerce will host a parade beginning at noon July 4. The route will start on South Main Street in Princeton.

Independence Day 5K
Newburgh, July 4 at 7 a.m.
Tri-State Fitness will host an Independence Day 5K at 7 a.m. July 4 at Friedman Park in Newburgh. Entry is $35 until June 22 and $40 from then to race day.
“Pieces of the Past: America at 250 Years” Guided Exhibition Tour
Evansville Museum, July 3, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Free.
The Evansville Museum will host a guided tour of the museum’s exhibition “Pieces of the Past: America at 250 Years.” This event is free and open to all adults. Doors open at 11 and the tour begins at 11:15 a.m.
D.A.R. Veteran Memorial Marker Dedication
Warrick County Courthouse Lawn, July 4 at 10 a.m.
Warrick County will host a marker dedication for those who died in the Revolutionary War. There will be a reception at the Main Street Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
