Notre Dame ranks well in recent average per game point differential

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish have put up some pretty solid numbers in recent years. Not surprising, since the team made a run to the national championship game in 2024-2025 and having an impressive regular-season run before a surprising playoff snub in 2025-2026.

One pundit has looked at the numbers and using a fairly common and simple metric, has shown exactly where Notre Dame fits with other championship-contending schools from the past five years.

The metric here is average per game point differential, and the Irish are third out of the nation’s top 10 with 18.52. Ohio State and Georgia are tops with 22.52 and 21.21.

Alabama and Michigan round out the top five, with Oregon, James Madison, Tennessee, Penn State and Ole Miss rounding out the top 10.
