BLOOMINGTON — Four-star recruit Addison Nyemchek verbally committed to Indiana women’s basketball Sunday.
Nyemchek is a 6-foot-1 wing ranked among the top 50 players in the 2026 signing class, per 247 Sports composite rankings.
“… Thank you to coach Teri Moren and the entire Indiana staff for this amazing opportunity,” Nyemchek wrote, in part, on social media. “I am beyond excited to announce that I will be continuing my academic and athletic career at Indiana University!!!! GO Hoosiers!”
The New Jersey native listed IU among her top three schools alongside Michigan and TCU back in August and was recently on campus for an official visit.
Nyemchek averaged 14.1 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game and had seven double-doubles as a junior at Red Bank Catholic. She was also a standout performer over the summer for the Philly Rise on the Nike EYBL circuit.
She is IU’s third verbal commitment for a 2026 signing class that includes Zoe Jackson, a 6-4 center out of Australia, and Ashlinn James, a 5-7 guard out of Kentucky. She’s the first commitment since coach Teri Moren overhauled the team’s recruiting operations.
Moren brought in Colsten Thompson as the program’s new recruiting coordinator in April to replace Linda Sayavongchanh.
“As I said to him, we’ve done enough from a success standpoint, I feel like we should be in the conversation for some of these top kids and I don’t feel like we have been,” Moren told The Herald-Times. “I’m hopeful that by bringing Colsten in, he can help us with that.”
