PEORIA — A new bar and restaurant concept operated by Jonah’s needs more time to open as it has hit construction delays.
Jonah’s 101 Oyster Bar, which is opening at Keller Station on Knoxville Avenue, requested and received a second six-month extension on its site approval for alcohol sales from the Peoria Liquor Commission on Monday, June 1.
Dan and Tate Ralph, the managers of Jonah’s 101 Oyster Bar, told the commission they were seeing some delays with the finished carpentry work inside the space at 6035 N. Knoxville Ave.
The original target date to open the bar was late summer or early fall. This new extension gives the business until November.
The space plans on incorporating custom millwork, dark wood and bricks, beadboard and brass into its design. The menu will be a combination of things found at Jonah’s 2601 Oyster Bar and Jonah’s Seafood House in East Peoria, Ralph previously told the Journal Star.
The space was previously home to The Noshery, which closed in February 2023.
