The Detroit Lions hope that their work throughout the offseason positions the franchise for a big bounce back in 2026.
ESPN is a believer in the Lions’ ability to roar back this coming season. In its bold predictions for the 2026 season, ESPN predicts that Detroit will go worst to first in the NFC North “in dominant fashion.”
Defensive injuries have derailed Detroit in recent seasons, but this roster — when healthy — is terrific on both sides of the ball. Add in one of the league’s easiest schedules, and the Lions are primed for a Super Bowl push. — Mike Clay, ESPN
Given its schedule and the talent on the Lions’ roster, Detroit is a trendy pick to make a quick return to championship contention.
DraftKings lists the Lions as its NFC North favorite with +186 odds to win the division.
While some fans are naturally pessimisstic after a disappointing 9-8 finish in 2025, ESPN’s thoughts on Detroit are a nice reminder that many think things will take a positive turn in 2026.
