Where do you like to get ice cream in the Springfield area? Vote now in our poll

What’s the best way to beat the heat throughout the summer? Ice cream, of course.

There are classic longtime national brands like Baskin Robbins and Dairy Queen to enjoy a classic scoop, but local brands like Oh Icee are new to the scene and popular for their rolled ice cream, a treat historically enjoyed in Thailand.

Scoop Du Jour, Sangamon County’s one-stop sweet shop in Chatham won the Golden Abe, a food award, at the Illinois State Fair in 2024 for the best new food at the Illinois State Fair for their glossy pink creation: the ice cream donut sandwich.

For National Ice Cream Day (July 20), The State Journal-Register wants to know where readers like to get their sweet fix.

Vote now in our online poll. The poll will close at 12 p.m. July 16.
