Two females, aged 10 and 11, have been hospitalized with “serious but non-life-threatening injuries” after they were struck by a vehicle Tuesday afternoon in East Peoria.
The East Peoria Police Department and the East Peoria Fire Department responded to a reported accident at the intersection of Sunrise Avenue and Wisdom Street at approximately 1:56 p.m. Tuesday.

Officers located two pedestrians who had been struck by a vehicle and suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries, according to a release from EPPD Deputy Chief Jason Ernst. Both were transported to local hospitals for treatment. The vehicle’s driver and juvenile passenger were not injured.
The crash remains under investigation by the East Peoria Police Department.
