The IHSA softball postseason is now a wrap after Dakota steamrolled its way to the Class 1A state championship on Saturday.
Dakota placed fourth at state last year, losing both games in tight, drawn-out battles. This year, they turned the tide, and won a title.
Dakota won a 1A regional and pulled out an 8-6 win over Milledgeville in Tuesday’s sectional semifinal to stay alive. They were scheduled to take on Fulton for a 1A sectional championship on Friday.
