Priciest homes sold in June include one selling for more than $1M

SPRINGFIELD, IL – The Sangamon County housing market remains competitive.

While real estate sites like Zillow and Realtor.com show the market falls below the market average, there’s not a shortage of homes sold every month in the county.

June was no different. But which homes were a cut above the rest and sold for top dollar in the area?

Here’s a look at the 10 most expensive homes sold in Sangamon County in June.

10. 2004 Bent Creek Road, Springfield 

Price: $656,000

Date: June 24

Size: 3,744 square feet 

Description: This home on a third of an acre lot was built in 2019 has an attached three-car garage with yard appeal on the outside. Located in the new section of Mill Creek, this property features a kitchen with a large storage island, oversized windows throughout the custom-built living room to bring in natural light that bounces off the 10-foot ceilings.

The main level includes three bedrooms, while the basement features an additional two bedrooms with egress windows. Just outside the bedrooms, the lower-level family room has a projector with surround sound for the ultimate movie theater at home, with a private backyard surrounded by trees to keep eyes off the in-ground salt-water heated pool.

The home was built in 2008 and is an open concept style home with plenty of natural light. The basement includes a recreation room, a home theater and extra space for an office or library. A screened balcony into the backyard overlooks the in-ground pool and a barn with six skylights and versatile use space.
