Peoria to become last location for longtime steakhouse

Peoria is set to become the last location for Alexander’s Steakhouse.

The restaurant’s Normal storefront – situated at 1503 E. College Ave. – announced plans to close at the end of May following four decades in the area.

“Serving this community for more than four decades has been one of our greatest honors,” the business said in a May 26 Facebook post. “We’re incredibly proud of the memories made, the celebrations shared, and the relationships built.”

The closure comes a little over two years after the steakhouse shuttered its Springfield storefront and over four years after closing in Champaign.

Ultimately, the Normal location noted: “While this chapter is closing, our Peoria location is ready to welcome you with the same hospitality and heart you’ve always known.”

Situated at 100 Alexander Ave., the Peoria storefront is set to become the final spot for the steakhouse – which started in 1983 with a unique, do-it-yourself dining experience.
