Motorcyclist killed in Tazewell County accident has been identified

An Armington man died Saturday after his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck along Illinois Route 9 outside Mackinaw.

Jeffrey Foster, 62, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash by the Tazewell County Coroner’s Office. The coroner’s office said that they responded to the intersection of Route 9 and Leopold Street near Mackinaw at 6:18 p.m. after they received an alert of a crash between a pickup truck and motorcycle that included a fatality.

Coroner Charles Hanley said that Foster was the operator and sole occupant of the motorcycle, with preliminary findings from an autopsy conducted Monday showing that multiple blunt force injuries sustained in the crash caused his death.

The coroner’s office, along with the Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office and Illinois State Police, are continuing to investigate the crash.
