The Chicago Bears have made the first big move of their offseason trading wide receiver DJ Moore to the Buffalo Bills. This following the news of center Drew Dalman’s retirement early this week, and Chicago has some new holes to fill on the roster.
The Bears are receiving a 2026 second-round pick in exchange for Moore and a 2026 fifth-round selection while also freeing up $16.5 million in salary cap space ahead of free agency next week.

Chicago’s trade of Moore brought in plenty of reaction from the NFL world, and also the Bears locker room, including last year’s second-round pick, Luther Burden III, who shared the receiver room with Moore. Burden, who came around in a big way towards the end of the season, took to social media to express his thoughts on the trade of his veteran teammate, a trade that likely puts Burden in a bigger role next season.
No words, just a simple photo with emojis to show the respect that the young receiver had his for teammate, although he now likely takes over a big chunk of the usage that Moore had in Chicago’s offense.
The Bears will now lean on Burden and Rome Odunze to lead their passing game at the wide receiver position, while also having the presence of last year’s first-round pick, tight end Colston Loveland, who led the team in receiving in 2025.
