The Chicago Bears have several position battles to monitor heading into their preseason opener against the Cleveland Browns, including left tackle. With frontrunner Braxton Jones currently sidelined with an injury, it’s Kiran Amegadjie and Jedrick Wills Jr. rotating with the starters.
Head coach Ben Johnson announced that Amegadjie will start on Saturday for the Bears with the plan being to get equal reps to Wills against the Browns. Amegadjie will kick off the first quarter before Wills gets his shot as they rotate throughout the game.
Chicago Tribune’s Brad Biggs noted that Jones, who’s been sidelined since Aug. 6, is set to return to practice on Thursday with the hope is he’ll be full go for next week.
More to come.
