Illinois basketball picks up commitment from four-star guard

Illinois basketball has added a four-star guard to its 2026 recruiting class.

Missouri senior Quentin Coleman announced on social media Friday, April 3 that he’s committed to play for the Fighting Illini. The 6-foot-4, 180-pounder had originally signed with Wake Forest before receiving his release last month.

“COMMITTED!!!! Blessed ,” he posted.

Coleman, who was named the Missouri Gatorade player of the year, helped led St. Louis Principia to the Class 3A state championship in March. He scored 50 points on 18-of-21 shooting in the title game victory.

During his senior season, Coleman averaged 23.1 points, 6.1 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 2.6 steals. He shot almost 65 percent from the field, 51 percent from the 3-point line and was a 90-percent free-throw shooter.

Illinois’ recruiting class of 2026 also features Lucas Morillo, Ethan Brown and Landon Davis.
