Holiday Craft & Vendor Show among 6 things to do this weekend in the Kewanee area

The weekend brings Henry County Farm Bureau Food Drive and Radoslav Lorković, along with fundraisers, live music and more to the Kewanee area.

What: For fans of Alan Jackson, Johnny Cash and Kacey Musgraves.  Angela Meyer was raised in rural Iowa by a family centered around country music. Her new album, “Legions & Legends” is a collection of 10 stories that pay homage to the Midwestern way of life. Often cyclical, this journey is paved by ancestral footsteps and lit by neon signs. Angela pulls in the crowd with a sweet voice and brutal honesty.

When: 9 p.m. – 1 a.m. Nov. 7

Chili and Soup Supper

What: Supper features chili, potato soup and broccoli cheese soup.

When: 4-7 p.m. Nov. 8

Where: Oxford Fire Protection District, 107 W. D St., Alpha

Cost: Freewill donation

Scrapbooking and Crafting Crop Day

What: Breakfast, lunch and a light dinner will be served. Two card classes will be offered at a small fee. There will be door prizes, raffle items and a garage sale. All proceeds will be donated to Rescued, the boutique that benefits pets in need.

When: 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. Nov. 8

Where: Colona Green Rock American Legion, 312 Broadway St., Cleveland

Holiday Craft & Vendor Show

What: Th Cambridge Holiday Shopping Extravaganza Craft & Vendor Show will feature several local craft and direct-sales vendors with gift options for your holiday needs.

When: 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Nov. 8

Where: Cambridge Community Hall, 125 N. East St., Cambridge

Cost: Free admission

Trivia/Bingo

What: Come play trivia/bingo and help Geneseo Wrestling raise money for the upcoming season. There will be auction items, a booze wagon raffle and some surprises. There will be three winners per round.

When: 5-9 p.m. Nov. 9

Where: Geneseo Park District, 541 E. North St., Geneseo

Cost: $30; tables of eight for $200

Radoslav Lorković

What:  Drawing from a multitude of influences ranging from elegant classical and jazz styles to the rawest, most basic blues, country and soul, Radoslav Lorković has taken on an unusually broad musical spectrum and refined it into his distinctive piano style. His tenure on the R&B and folk circuits has culminated in five critically-acclaimed solo recordings and numerous appearances on the recordings of and performances with artists including Odetta, Jimmy LaFave, Ribbon of Highway Woody Guthrie Tribute, Greg Brown, Richard Shindell, Ellis Paul, Ronny Cox, Dave Moore, Andy White and Bo Ramsey. The 6 p.m. potluck is optional, but it is an opportunity to connect with others in the audience and maybe share a meal with the artist. Plates, bowls, silverware, napkins and serving spoons are provided. This is an all-ages, family-friendly show.

What: The acoustic quartet: Andrew Sturtz (vocals and guitar), Courtlyn Carpenter (cello and harmonies), Will Kuepper (bass and harmonies) and Jim Herlihy (banjo and harmonies) is serene and folksy, with melodic vocals soaring over the lower string instrumentals. The 6 p.m. potluck is optional, but it is an opportunity to connect with others in the audience and maybe share a meal with the artist. What: Nutrition and wellness educator Kristin Bogdonas will show you how to build a beautiful and balanced charcuterie board for holiday entertaining. Learn how to pair flavors, choose healthy options and arrange your board. No culinary experience is required. Limited space; registration is requested.

When: 2-3 p.m. Nov. 12

Fall Toothpick Leaf Painting

What: Get creative at this Craft Time for Elementary Students session. Kids will design colorful leaves using toothpicks instead of paintbrushes to explore texture, detail and color blending. All materials will be provided. Artists can take home their masterpieces to celebrate the beauty of autumn.

When: 2-6 p.m. Nov. 12-Nov. 14

Where: Kewanee Public Library District, 102 S. Tremont St., Kewanee

A Sherlock Carol

What: Moriarty is dead. And Sherlock Holmes is a haunted man. But, when a grown-up Tiny Tim asks Holmes to investigate the death of Ebenezer Scrooge, the great detective must use his gifts to solve a Dickens of a Christmas mystery. Six Richland Hill Players actors take on the beloved characters of Arthur Conan Doyle and Charles Dickens in this heartwarming and highly theatrical holiday treat for all ages.

When: 7:30 p.m. Thursdays – Saturdays, 3 p.m. Sundays Nov. 13-16 and Nov. 20-23
