Groundhog Day is coming up, leaving some fans nostalgic for an iconic ’90s film.
The 1993 movie “Groundhog Day,” directed by Harold Ramis and starring Bill Murray and Andie MacDowell, centers around the legendary celebration it was named after.
The film follows a meteorologist, Phil (yes, like the groundhog), played by Murray, who is reporting on Groundhog Day in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, as he relives the same day over and over. It just so happens that the day he’s repeating is Feb. 2.
“Groundhog Day” became so iconic that the phrase “groundhog day” is used to describe days or tasks that feel repetitive and never ending.
