Henry/Midland senior voted fans' choice for Peoria-area preseason girls track athlete of the year

Henry/Midland’s Daniella Bumber was voted the 2026 Peoria-area fans’ choice for preseason high school girls track and field athlete, beating out seven other nominees.

Bumber earned 48.6 percent of the nearly 2,800 votes. She outdistanced Lily Bosnich of St. Bede, who earned 25.17 percent. Brianna Johnson from Richwoods earned 12.46 percent. No other nominee got more than 6.0 percent of the vote.

Voting ran through Tuesday, March 31. This vote has no bearing on who will be selected the Journal Star athlete of the year or will make the annual all-area team, which are scheduled to be announced after the season.
