Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams was one of the breakout stars of the 2025 NFL season, where his penchant for late-game heroics, as well as insane and improbable throws made him must-watch television on a weekly basis. And one of his rivals agrees.
The NFL teased its upcoming Top 100 Players of 2026 list by asking various players about who they believe should be No. 1 on the list. It wasn’t a surprise that see Puka Nacua pick his MVP quarterback Matthew Stafford or even Bijan Robinson picking himself. But it was quite a shock to see Green Bay Packers star defender Micah Parsons name Caleb Williams, aka “Iceman,” as his top selection, and not his own quarterback, Jordan Love.
There’s no doubt that Williams will be on the list; the only question is how high. It’s worth noting that this list is voted on by players, so hearing one of Williams’ rivals like Parsons name him at No. 1 certainly speaks volumes about how the former No. 1 pick is respected around the league.
Last season, Williams set an NFL record with seven fourth-quarter comebacks, including two against the Packers, most notably that wild-card playoff win. He also set a single-season passing record with 3,942 yards, breaking Erik Kramer’s record set back in 1995, falling just shy of becoming the franchise’s lone 4,000-yard passer. And that was just in one year with head coach and offensive guru Ben Johnson, so the best is yet to come.
Williams only faced Parsons once in three meetings between Chicago and Green Bay last season. While Parsons certainly made his presence known, he failed to sack Williams in their only meeting. But that’s likely to change with Parsons being with the Packers long-term, and it’s sure to make for an exciting matchup between the two young stars.
