Coroner identifies Springfield motorcyclist who died in crash

SPRINGFIELD – A Springfield man died after he collided with a pickup truck while driving a motorcycle.

JB Logan, 77, died on June 1 around 3 p.m., shortly after he arrived at the emergency room at HSHS St. John’s Hospital, according to a news release from Sangamon County Coroner Jim Allmon.

The collision happened near the intersection of Ninth and Carpenter streets.

Preliminary findings from an autopsy done June 2 show Logan died from blunt force injuries from the crash, Allmon said.

The death remains under investigation by the Sangamon County Coroner and the Springfield Police Department.
