Concerts, theater and more: 6 things to do this weekend in Peoria

July is full of activities. Here are six events you might want to check out in the Peoria area this weekend.

Children’s Theatre presents ‘Seussical the Musical’

The Community Children’s Theatre will perform its presentation of “Seussical the Musical” at 7 p.m. Friday, July 10, 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday, July 11, and 1 p.m. Sunday, July 12, at the Peoria Players Theatre, 4300 N. University St. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for children ages 12 and under and can be purchased at www.cctpeoria.org.

An evening of Funk on the riverfront

Dexter O’Neal and the Funkyard will perform at 7 p.m. Friday, July 10, at CEFCU Center Stage. The concert will feature plenty of legendary funk, soul and R&B classics. Gates open at 6 p.m. Tickets are $13 in advance at www.peoriaparks.org or $20 at the gate.

Corn Stock presents ‘The Hunchback of Notre Dame’

Corn Stock Theatre kicks off its run of “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” at 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 10, at the Illinois Central College Performing Arts Center, 1 College Drive, East Peoria. Additional performances will be held at 7:30 p.m. July 11-14 and July 17-18. Tickets are $26 for adults and $21 for students ages 18 and under and can be purchased at ci.ovationtix.com/36968/production/1276864?performanceId=11813759.

David Phelps in concert

Christian music artist David Phelps will bring his “Speak of Truth” tour to Five Points Washington, 360 N. Wilmore Road, Washington, at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 11. The concert will feature songs from his new album, as well as his classic hits. Doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets start at $35 and can be purchased at fivepointswashington.org.

Flea market at Peoria Speedway

The Central Illinois Flea Market will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, July 12, at Peoria Speedway, 3520 W. Farmington Road. Items for sale include antiques, collectibles, boutique clothing, books, yard decor, home decor, art, plants and more. Admission is $3.

Access for All Day at the Riverfront Museum

Thanks to the generous support of Art Bridges Foundation admission is free to the public from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 13, at the Peoria Riverfront Museum. Patrons of all ages can enjoy free make and take art activities, planetarium shows, guided tours and more.
