Colston Loveland says Bears star Caleb Williams can be best QB in NFL

The Chicago Bears have several young pieces who have an opportunity to break through in the 2026 season, particularly on the offensive side of the ball, which includes a spotlight on tight end Colston Loveland.

Loveland, who came on strong towards the end of the regular season last year and set a NFL rookie record for receiving yards by a tight end in the playoffs, has been given plenty of praise as the 2025 first-round pick looks to grow in his second year.

Recently, Bears quarterback Caleb Williams suggested that Loveland can become the best tight end in the NFL, which the sophomore responded to, by giving his quarterback similar praise as well.

“That’s an honor coming from him,” Loveland said. “I’ve got a lot of work to do that for sure, but I think he could be the best quarterback in the league, too.”

There is no denying the respect that Williams and Loveland have for one another going into their second year together, but also they both recognize the work that they both need to do in order to accomplish hitting that mark of being the best at their position.

Chicago’s got plenty of young offensive firepower with Williams at quarterback, Rome Odunze and Luther Burden as their top wide receivers, and Loveland who can be an asset at tight end as both a receiver and blocker, giving head coach Ben Johnson plenty to work with and be excited for this upcoming season.
