A total of 24 players from Illinois are among the NCAA baseball teams playing in the 2025 College World Series starting this weekend in Omaha, Nebraska.
Nearly all of the Illinois players are part of three rosters: Louisville, Murray State and Arizona — coincidentally the only three teams in the field that come into the tournament unranked.

Here are the eight teams in the CWS, along with USA TODAY Sports/coaches ranking: No. 3 LSU (48-15); No. 5 Arkansas (48-13); No. 9 Oregon State (47-14-1); No. 11 Coastal Carolina (53-11); No. 13 UCLA (47-16); Arizona (44-19); Louisville (40-22); and Murray State (44-15).
