The Green Bay Packers made one of the biggest trades in recent NFL history on Thursday when they acquired superstar edge rusher Micah Parsons from the Dallas Cowboys in exchange for a 2026 and 2027 first-round pick and defensive tackle Kenny Clark. Parsons is signing a four-year contract extension with the Packers worth up to $188 million with $120 million guaranteed after holding out from the Cowboys for the entirety of training camp.
Green Bay is adding one of the best players in the NFL to their roster, which isn’t the best news for the rest of the NFC North—including the Chicago Bears. Parsons has made the Pro Bowl in every season since coming into the league in 2021 and already has 52.5 career sacks with 63 tackles for loss. Now the Bears will face him and Green Bay’s improved pass rush twice a year, beginning on December 7th and again on December 20th.
Many Bears fans were hoping that general manager Ryan Poles would find a way to swing a trade for the 26-year-old star pass rusher to improve their defensive line but knew it was a long shot. Instead, their bitter rivals land Parsons’ services, and Bears fans are going through their emotions following the trade:
