BARTONVILLE – New life has come to the corner of South Adams Street and McKinley Avenue.
On Nov. 22, Wendy’s opened at 5601 S. Washington St. which was formerly home to KFC. The fast-food brand now boasts four Peoria-area locations.
A statement shared on behalf of Parco Ltd. said the franchisee is “thrilled to be expanding the Wendy’s brand in Bartonville” and is thankful for the support it has received so far.
A grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony is slated for 9 a.m. on Dec. 18. The statment shared with the Journal Star noted that “treats including cupcakes and balloons will be handed out to guests throughout the day.”
“We look forward to serving the Bartonville community for years to come!” the statement concluded.
Breakfast is served until 10:30 a.m. daily. The dining room is open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, while the drive-thru is open from 6:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday and 6:30 a.m. to 1 a.m. Monday through Saturday.

KFC closed its Bartonville storefront, along with the rest of its Peoria-area locations, in August 2024. Stores in Springfield, Pontiac and the Rockford area abruptly closed, as well.
This August, Bartonville trustee Teresa Donley told the Journal Star the village was excited to welcome Wendy’s to the area and hoped to see even more development along the corridor moving forward.
