Authorities identify Springfield man killed in motorcycle crash

SPRINGFIELD – A Springfield man who died in a motorcycle crash has been identified.

Charles Laughlin, 58, died on April 6 at Springfield Memorial Hospital after he collided with a car on Wabash Avenue.

Laughlin was pronounced dead around 10:30 p.m., according to a news release from Sangamon County Chief Deputy Coroner Zach Thomas.

Laughlin died from multiple blunt force injuries from the crash, according to Thomas.

The death remains under investigation by the Springfield Police Department and Sangamon County Coroner.
