The victim was identified by the coroner’s office as Adelisa “Addy” Rose Johnson, 15.

According to reports, Johnson was a sophomore at Jacksonville High School.

Johnson was a backseat passenger in the car. She was ejected from the car and pronounced dead at the scene.

Patterson said the vehicle was eastbound when it left the roadway and rolled.

Jacksonville schools superintendent Steve Ptacek said “the entire community is grieving the loss of Addy…She will be greatly missed by students and staff.

“On behalf of the staff, board, and student body, I offer sincere condolences to Addy’s family and loved ones during this difficult time. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Counselors, social workers, and psychologists will be available when school resumes to support anyone affected by this tragedy.

“We also send our heartfelt wishes to the students still recovering from the accident and their families.”

A GoFundMe has been set up to help Johnson’s family offset funeral expenses and related costs.

The crash remains under investigation by the Illinois State Police and the Morgan County Coroner.
