The Miami Dolphins already have one of the best running backs in the league, with De’Von Achane slated to be the team’s starter in 2026, but they’re still looking for someone to separate themselves in the backup competition.
Unfortunately, one competitor for the job is now injured, as Dolphins running back Ollie Gordon II left Miami’s preseason battle with the New York Giants early.
On first-and-10, Gordon took a handoff for just one yard and landed hard on his right elbow. He remained down on the field for a while before walking off under his own power and to the locker room with trainers.
Without Gordon, Jaylen Wright re-entered the game as Miami’s running back. They also have Carlos Washington Jr. and Donovan Edwards there as well.
