Welcome to TCPalm’s Teacher of the Week voting. Scroll down to see who won this week’s poll.
TCPalm wants to recognize Treasure Coast teachers making a difference for their students and schools. Readers — parents, administrators, students, community members and other teachers ― nominate their favorite teachers each week. TCPalm lists four nominated teachers, and asks readers to vote for their favorite to be named Teacher of the Week.
This week’s Teacher of the Week is Susan Reynolds, teacher at Port Salerno Elementary in Martin County.
TCPalm invites you to support your favorite teacher by voting in this poll. And then revisit it to learn about the amazing teachers on the Treasure Coast.
Voting began 5 a.m. Sunday and ended noon Friday. Visit this page after voting closes to find out who won.

Madyson Carter, Allapattah Flats K-8, St. Lucie County
What the nominator said: “This teacher has gone above and beyond with her students giving each one the extra attention that each particular student needs. She has the patience of a saint and when one child accomplishes a goal that seems out of reach, she gets so excited for them and praises them unconditionally. I’ve even seen her sit down and cry that she finally gets through to them. This is not just a job to her. This is in her heart and means everything to her.”
William Russell Denton, Oslo Middle, Indian River County
What the nominator said: “(Mr. Denton) engages his students to learn and appreciate science. He has raised their school scores. Mr. Denton’s students love him and he has raised their attendance levels and improved students’ behavior issues. We need more teacher like Russ Denton and should clone him.”
