As the 2026 NFL Draft approaches, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers find themselves in a position where flexibility could be key. While the team has several needs to address, general manager Jason Licht could look to get creative, and that includes the possibility of using current players as trade assets.
Tampa Bay isn’t expected to blow things up, but if the right deal presents itself, there are a few names that could generate interest around the league.
Zyon McCollum, Cornerback
McCollum remains one of the more intriguing players on the roster. His elite athleticism and length are exactly what teams look for at the position, but the consistency hasn’t fully come together. With the Buccaneers still searching for a reliable outside corner and potentially targeting one early in the draft, McCollum could become a name that starts rumbling around the league despite a down year in 2025. A team betting on upside may see him as a star-caliber player waiting to break out.
Chris Godwin Jr., Wide Receiver
This one would be the most surprising of the group, but it can’t be ruled out entirely. Godwin has been a cornerstone of the Buccaneers’ offense, but with a significant contract and the team potentially looking to get younger or reallocate resources, his name could at least come up in conversations. He would immediately become one of the top receivers available if shopped, and his production and leadership would carry strong value. However, this would be one of the more unlikely moves, especially after losing Mike Evans in free agency. Godwin now takes command of the offense as the veteran leader in the wide receiver room.
Yaya Diaby, Edge Rusher
Diaby has flashed real potential as a young pass rusher, but that’s also what could make him appealing in trade talks. If the Buccaneers are looking to reshape their defensive front or target a specific edge prospect early in the draft, Diaby could be part of a package deal. His upside, motor, and age make him a valuable asset, one that could bring back a meaningful return if Tampa Bay chooses to explore that route. The Bucs would need a hearty haul to consider trading their best pass rusher.
