No Wild Water Derby, no problem.
The popular Shortsville event was canceled because of high water and debris in Canandaigua Outlet. But the birth of a reindeer calf is a good way to ease the disappointment.
The Shortsville Reindeer Farm is hosting Odin’s Day Market from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 25 — the same day the derby was to be held — so visitors can see the reindeer, including baby Odin, which was born March 31 and weighed 10.5 pounds, as well as support local vendors.
Odin, son of Boo, the mom, and Bronco, is the third calf born at the farm in as many springs. The farm now has eight reindeer.
This is a free event and there is no need to register.
What vendors will be at Shortsville Reindeer Farm?
A smattering of vendors will also be there. They include: Edgemere Coffee, Lucky Ducks Mini Donuts, Red Jacket Booster Club, Nibbles and Nosh Sourdough, Dinies Tinies Crochet Plushies and more.
More vendors are welcome. Those who would like to set up a booth should text Mike at 585-282-9892 or email Mike@shortsvillereindeer.com.
