In six weeks, the fall sports season — and the 2025-26 athletic season — will begin in the Gainesville-area.
Much of our content at the Gainesville Sun in the weeks leading up to kickoff will be looking ahead to the season. However, we want to honor the best of the best from the 2024-25 season before we officially turn the page.
This week, the Sun will be running polls to honor the best teams and athletes for the boys and girls sports in North-Central Florida.
First up is the boys team of the year. It was a phenomenal year for our gentlemen in the athletic circle. We picked the 19 best, and now want to give you the chance to decide which team is the best of the best. Don’t forget we also released our girls team of the year poll Tuesday. You can vote for it here.
