A Lehigh Acres man is arrested in a crash that killed a pedestrian 4 months ago.
Around 12:45 a.m. December 13, 2025, officers from the Fort Myers Police Department found a pedestrian who was hit by a car on the 11000 block of Colonial Boulevard.
There was a blue Chevrolet Cruze at the scene.
The driver was identified as 27-year-old Michael Espinosa Ramirez.
The Fort Myers Police Department said that due to the severity of the crash, emergency medical responders had to remove Ramirez, who was unresponsive but breathing, from the vehicle.
Officers reported an open alcoholic beverage in the car. Additional investigation indicated that Ramirez was impaired and driving a vehicle with a blood-alcohol content above the legal limit, the police department said.
Ramirez was charged with DUI manslaughter causing death and vehicular manslaughter.
On April 29, he turned himself in.
He remained in custody Thursday. His bond was set at $35,000.
Ramirez is to appear in court on June 1.
