It is just a matter of days before fireworks will be lighting up the sky around Okaloosa and Walton County as they celebrate the Fourth of July.
Here is a look at where fireworks, parades and other family-friendly Independence Day happenings will be taking place and when.

Where are the fireworks in Fort Walton Beach?
Fort Walton Beach will hold its annual July 4th Celebration at Fort Walton Beach landing from 5-9 p.m. on July 4.
There will be food vendors and Scratch 2020 will be taking the stage for a mix of rock and roll from all eras.
The firework show is set for 8:45 p.m. over Santa Rosa Sound.
The Boardwalk on Okaloosa Island will have fireworks at 9 p.m.
Where are the fireworks in Destin?
Prior to the fireworks, the city of Destin’s will host its annual Family Independence Day Celebration and Bike Parade on July 1 for children 16 and under.
The event will take place at the Destin Elementary School track on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. The parade will kick off at 6 p.m. There will be food trucks as well as face painting, arts and crafts and a waterslide.
July 3 is the Star-Spangled Food Truck Festival at Destin Commons. This event is from 5-9:30 p.m. and will feature more than 25 food trucks, face painting and live entertainment.
On July 4, the city of Destin will light up the sky with fireworks over Destin harbor at 9 p.m.
July 4 at HarborWalk Village the celebration will go from 6-9 p.m. with live country music, dancing and fun to honor the stars and stripes. On-site parking is $20.
Where are the fireworks in Sandestin?
The 4th of July event at Sandestin called “Red, White and Baytowne” will take place at Baytowne Wharf on July 4, from 7-9:15 p.m.
This is a kid-friendly event with inflatables, face painting, lawn games, and a free concert.
The fireworks will be at 9:15 p.m.
At the Hilton Sandestin, on the beachside, there will be a “Warbirds” fly over at 7:30 p.m. and fireworks at 9 p.m.
Where are the fireworks in Niceville?
The annual Boggy Bayou 4th of July Fireworks will be July 4 at 8:45 p.m. The fireworks will be launched from the fire dock at Lions Park off Bayshore Drive.
There will be a festival with food trucks beginning at the park at 3 p.m., with music at 6 p.m.
Where are the fireworks in Crestview?
The 2025 Independence Day celebration in Crestview will be held at Twin Hills Park. The fun begins at 2 p.m. with entertainment and food trucks, kid’s activities, and a bicycle parade.
The fireworks will will go off at approximately 9 p.m.
Parking is free. Bring chairs or blankets to sit on and watch the fireworks.
Where are the fireworks in Freeport?
Freeport will have their annual 4th of July Parde on July 4th beginning at 4 p.m. at the Freeport Learning Center at 360 Kylea Laird Drive.
State Road 20 will be closed to all traffic on the parade route at 3:45 p.m. and will reopen after the parade ends.
A fireworks show will take place at 8:30 p.m. in theFreeport Regional Sports Complex. Vendors will be onsite to purchase food.
Where are the fireworks in DeFuniak Springs
The DeFuniak Springs 4th of July Celebration will take place from 4-9 p.m. on Lake DeFuniak.
The “Light up the sky on the 4th of July” celebration at Lake DeFuniak will be honoring the memory of Deputy William May who died earlier this year.
The parade will begin at 4 p.m., followed by the Shane Owens show at p.m. and fireworks at 8:45 p.m.
Where are the fireworks on 30A in Santa Rosa Beach?
The annual Independence Day Celebration at Seaside starts at 9 a.m. on July 4 with a block party from 9 a.m. until noon.
At 11 a.m. there will be a bike decorating contest, followed by a hot dog eating contest at 11:30 a.m.
The Sinfonia Gulf Coast Pops Concert is set for 7 p.m. with fireworks on the Gulf at 8:30 p.m.
At Alys Beach Amphitheatre on July 4 from 6-9 p.m. there will be many family-friendly activities.
There will be live music by the Bay King Band in the amphitheater starting at 6 p.m. Fireworks to follow.
