For the first time in four weeks, the Florida State Seminoles softball team has risen in Softball America’s Top 25.
The Seminoles have risen one spot to No. 10 in Softball America’s Week 7 Top 25. They spent just one week outside of the top 10 after sliding down the polls for four straight weeks. They are 25-4 overall and 3-0 in ACC play, winning their last 14 games.
The Seminoles went 4-0 last week, beating South Alabama on Wednesday before sweeping Syracuse at JoAnne Graf Field in Tallahassee, Florida. The offense had a sensational series against the Orange, scoring 36 runs in the three games
FSU will return to action on Wednesday when they host the No. 3 Texas Tech Red Raiders. It is FSU’s chance to get revenge after losing to Texas Tech earlier in the year, and the Red Raiders eliminated them from last year’s NCAA Tournament.
FSU is now the highest-ranked ACC team in the poll, with No. 12 Virginia right behind them. No. 14 Virginia, No. 20 Duke, and No. 23 Clemson give them five teams in the top 25. All four of FSU’s losses have come against ranked teams, including one game to No. 1 Tennessee, one to No. 3 Texas Tech, and two to No. 4 Alabama.
