Apple recently confirmed that its upcoming special event will take place next week, with the technology giant expected to unveil the latest iPhone, the iPhone 17.
Following the news, many outlets have pinpointed a specific launch date for the new iPhone, although it remains unconfirmed by Apple officials. If it is announced during the event, Floridians can expect its Apple stores statewide to be filled with customers later this month.
Here’s what we know about the upcoming Apple Event and what the next iPhone could look like, as well as how to get it in Florida.
When is the next Apple Event? What time and how can I watch, stream it?
Apple announced its upcoming special event for Tuesday, Sept. 9, with many predicting it will unveil the iPhone 17, along with its Pro and Pro Max models.
The Apple event, dubbed “Awe-dropping,” will go live at 1 p.m. EST. Anyone can watch it on Apple.com, the Apple TV app or its YouTube channel.
Is there an iPhone 17 release date?
As for when the new iPhone could physically be in stores, sources believe it will be in the weeks following the announcement. For example, the iPhone 16 hit the shelves on Sept. 20 last year, weeks after it was first announced on Sept. 9.
How much is an iPhone 17 going to cost?
The cost is unknown. However, the website Macrumors reports that the iPhone 17 will start at $799 with 128GB storage, the exact pricing and capacity as the iPhone 16.
They also report that the base iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max models will cost $1,199. If true, this will be $200 more than the iPhone 16 Pro models; although, they will include more memory.
What will the iPhone 17 look like? Will the iPhone 17 be different?
Not much is confirmed about what the iPhone 17 or the Pros will look like. However, it is rumored that the Pro iPhone will see some tweaks and upgrades.
“The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are rumored to switch from titanium to aluminum,” Engadget reported. “They could also see the rear camera array expand to an entire “island” that extends across most of the phone’s backside.”
There have also been leaks about what colors it will come in: yellow, green, light blue, pink, black, dark blue, silver, and orange.

What other Apple products are expected to be released?
Apple is rumored to be releasing a new member of the iPhone family: the iPhone 17 Air.
Engadget reports that the new phone will be the thinnest iPhone yet, measuring roughly 5.55 mm in thickness. Many believe this is in response to the trend of the “skinny phone,” including the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge. However, experts note this will come with some possible compromises to the hardware, such as only one camera and a smaller battery.
Macrumors reported that the iPhone 17 Air will start at $1,099 with 256GB of storage.
Experts also theorize that Apple will introduce two new Apple Watches (Series 11 and Apple Watch Ultra 3), and possibly a new version of AirPods Pro.
Forbes reports that all details will be announced simultaneously and will likely have the same release date.
