September is a little early for talk of “must win” games, but for the Miami Dolphins, victories better come sooner rather than later if they hope to salvage the 2025 season.
An upset of the juggernaut Buffalo Bills would inject an instant jolt into the Dolphins’ lifeless season. Another loss would push head coach Mike McDaniel and general manager Chris Grier one step closer to unemployment, and tiptoe the Dolphins closer to a full-scale rebuild.
Getting a win Thursday night would be a stunner for the Dolphins after they struggled to contain the Indianapolis Colts and New England Patriots offenses in the first two weeks. But a wild upset may be the only thing left that can save McDaniel’s job.
