Vote now for the top weekly performance from the Athlete of the Week winners of the second quarter of 2024-25. Over four weeks in June, the Times-Union will roll out polls for each quarter of the season, leading up to a final four. It’s one more opportunity to highlight some of the top performances from the high school sports season in Jacksonville and Northeast Florida.
This week’s voting begins Monday morning and closes at 10 a.m. Thursday. Votes are restricted to once per device per hour. Vote at jacksonville.com/sports.
Oct. 28-Nov. 2: Lily Brady, Bishop Kenny volleyball
The senior setter helped Bishop Kenny volleyball win the Region 1-4A championship, recording 23 assists and 10 digs on the road at South Walton.
Nov. 4-9: Drew Monti, Episcopal boys soccer
The junior goalkeeper recorded three shutouts in a week for Episcopal boys soccer against Orange Park, Paxon and Christ’s Church.
Nov. 11-16: Sadaly Campbell, Fernandina Beach girls golf
The senior made Pirates history in the Florida High School Athletic Association Class 2A girls golf tournament, shooting a 3-over 145 for the two-round tournament and winning in a playoff at Howey-in-the-Hills.
Nov. 18-23: Aaron Wiley, Keystone Heights boys soccer
The forward scored nine goals and two assists in the week for Keystone boys soccer, beating Newberry, Fort White and Trenton.
Nov. 25-30: Peyton Burris, Stanton girls soccer
The senior scored the game-winning goal to lift Stanton girls soccer past Atlantic Coast 3-2 in a rematch of the 2024 Gateway Conference semifinals.
Dec. 2-7: Kevin Reyes, Fleming Island boys wrestling
The senior earned first place in the 285-pound division at the Danny Byron Invitational in Kissimmee, going 5-0.
Dec. 9-14: Connor Neill, Bishop Snyder boys basketball
The senior forward scored in double figures in three consecutive games as the Cardinals beat Gainesville Oak Hall, St. Johns Country Day and Father Lopez, helping Bishop Snyder to a five-game winning streak.
Dec. 16-21: Haddon Rowland, Baker County boys soccer
The striker finished with seven goals and an assist for Baker County boys soccer, including a four-goal game, in victories over Hilliard, Palatka and West Nassau.
Dec. 23-28: Jahari Simmons, Jackson boys basketball
The senior guard won most valuable player honors for Tigers boys basketball at the Northwest Christmas Tournament with victories over Raines and Ribault, scoring 27 points and providing eight assists.
Dec. 30-Jan. 4: Jaxon Williamson, Bartram Trail boys basketball
The senior point guard helped Bartram Trail to an undefeated finish at the Marlin Christmas Classic, scoring 30 points and 16 assists in victories against Nashville (Tenn.) Franklin Road Academy and Fernandina Beach.
