On Kamari Smith’s first carry against Altamonte Springs Lake Brantley in the spring football game, he bolted 75 yards for a touchdown. Needless to say, Smith is one of the most explosive backs in the county as his more than 1,500 rushing yards last year proved.
But when the 2026 football season begins, will the Lake Wales senior be considered the top running back in the county?
Smith will have some strong competition from around the county, including Lakeland Christian senior AJ Truedell who is a top senior prospect, Reagan Korlacki a dominant back for Santa Fe Catholic, Ahnarri Coooper, who put up nearly 1,000 yards against a tough schedule and Anthony Howard Jr. who is one of the top junior prospects in the state.
So who do you think the top running back will be in ’26? Vote now. The poll will close at noon on Monday.
