EVANSVILLE — Welcome to the 2026 high school football season in Southwestern Indiana.
The regular season is less than three weeks away to officially end a nine-month reprieve from the game. To kick off preseason coverage, we’re starting with multiple watch lists broken down by positions or groups.
Up next is one of the more underappreciated positions: offensive linemen and kickers.
Here’s a look at 50 of those unsung heroes to watch across the Evansville area this fall. This is a mix of top returners and potential impact newcomers in alphabetical order. Next week is the turn for defense. It is possible to see names repeated if they play multiple positions for their respective teams.
Zander App, Memorial: Senior offensive tackle. Second Team All-SIAC and All-City.
Ethan Ashby, North Posey: Senior kicker. Made 5 of 5 field goals (long of 41) and 41 of 41 extra points. All-PAC.
Riley Begle, Forest Park: Senior offensive tackle. All-PAC honorable mention.
Joe Brown, Harrison: Senior offensive guard.
Carter Browning, Washington: Junior kicker. Made 8 of 10 field goals with a long of 48. IFCA All-State.
Brody Devasier, Princeton: Senior offensive tackle.
Colton Drone, Castle: Senior offensive tackle.
Cason Edwards, Perry Central: Junior center. All-PLAC.
Ike Elmer, North: Junior offensive guard.
Joshua Harker, Pike Central: Senior center.
Chase Harmon, South Spencer: Senior center.
Conner Harpenau, Perry Central: Junior offensive tackle. All-PLAC.
Jesse Harper, Jasper: Senior offensive guard.
Lane Hewig, Tecumseh: Senior offensive tackle. All-PAC and IFCA All-State. Committed to Eastern Kentucky.
