TCPalm Boys Athlete of the Week – April 6-11

Weightlifting: William Cheriton, St. Edward’s – The sophomore claimed championships in both traditional and Olympic competitions at the 183-pound weight class during the District 12-1A meet. 

Lacrosse: Dominic Foderaro, Vero Beach – The sophomore had a terrific all-around game during the team’s district quarterfinal win over Tohopekaliga. Foderaro had a goal, three assists, a team-best seven ground balls and won 8 of 9 faceoffs.  

Baseball: Caden Freedman, St. Edward’s – The sophomore allowed just one run on seven hits and no walks with seven strikeouts during a complete-game victory over Palm Bay. He also drove in three runs. 

Track and Field: Jarvis Jacobs, Vero Beach – The senior was victorious in two events to help Vero win its own Last Chance Meet. Jacobs won the 200-meter race and was part of the team’s win at the 400-meter relay.

Weightlifting: Sam James, Sebastian River – James claimed championships in both traditional and Olympic competitions at the 169-pound weight class during the District 15-2A meet. 

Lacrosse: Landry Kavovit, Jensen Beach – The freshman had eight goals and two assists and four ground balls during the team’s regional quarterfinal victory over John Carroll Catholic.  

Tennis: Joshua Herring, South Fork – The senior picked up wins at second singles and first doubles during the Bulldogs’ victory over Martin County. 

Track and Field: Sebastian Polynice, St. Lucie West Centennial – The senior was victorious in three events to help the Eagles place second at the Lincoln Knowles Memorial. He won the 400 and was part of the team’s wins at the 400 and 1,600 relays.

Tennis: William Suleman, Vero Beach – The freshman captured a 4-1, 4-0 victory at first singles during Vero’s victory over Harmony. 

Baseball: Carsen Williams, Okeechobee – The junior fired a complete-game shutout against Cardinal Newman, allowing three hits and a walk while striking out six. He also went 2-for-3 at the plate with a run scored. Williams later went 1-for-2 with a double, a walk, three RBIs and two runs scored against American Heritage.

Baseball: Caleb Wood, Vero Beach – The senior clubbed a home run, recorded a walk and two RBIs during the team’s win over Jensen Beach.
