Vote for PuroClean of Melbourne Girls Athlete of the Week, Feb. 16-21

It is time to vote for the PuroClean of Melbourne Girls Athlete of the Week at 321preps.com and floridatoday.com.

The following athletes were nominated for their performances from Feb. 16-21. You will find the ballot at the bottom of the page. Be sure to refresh if the poll isn’t visible upon first loading. Voting will be open until noon on Thursday, Feb. 26. Votes are restricted to once per device per hour.

Coaches and athletic directors are invited to nominate athletes each week. E-mail the athlete’s accomplishments for the previous Monday through Saturday to Prepscores@floridatoday.com by 10 a.m. each Sunday.

Here are this week’s nominees:

Leila Bryant, Holy Trinity basketball

Bryant finished with 31 points, five rebounds, and three steals in the Tigers’ Region 2-2A semifinal win over West Shore on Feb. 20.

Charlotte Chamberlin, Satellite lacrosse

Chamberlin scored eight goals and added one assist in Satellite’s win over Melbourne on Feb. 17. She also had four goals and one assist in a win against Merritt Island on Feb. 19.

Sanau Jhagroo, Rockledge track and field

Jhagroo placed first in the 400 meters (58.33) and the triple jump (33-10) at the Rockledge Raider Classic on Feb. 21.

Ryauna Nepomuceno, Viera wrestling

Nepomuceno won the 125-pound championship title at the Region 2-1A competition on Feb. 20.

Jordan Stout, Eau Gallie softball

Stout finished with two RBI, two hits, and one run in the Commodores’ win over Rockledge on Feb. 17. She also struck out five batters and pitched four scoreless innings in the game.
