Volunteers are welcomed as individuals, teams, church and corporate groups.

Celebrated annually, National Make A Difference Day is designed to inspire Americans to volunteer their time, resources and skills through charitable projects or simply to engage in acts of kindness.

Bill Lazar, SJHP’s executive director, said the day is a wonderful opportunity to give back to the community.

“This cause shows a striking visual of the power and impact of volunteers,” he said in a news release. “Volunteers show us how strength and generosity flow from simple acts of service.”

The St. Johns County Housing Partnership is also accepting financial contributions and material donations.

Material donations requested include 150 gallons of neutral-colored exterior base paint in 10-gallon increments, 25 gallons of white latex exterior trim paint in 5-gallon increments, 48 four-inch and three-inch paint brushes, 25 paint scrapers, 20 caulk guns and 72 tubes of caulk, 72 6-inch rollers and 72 6-inch covers, 72 9-inch rollers and 72 9-inch covers, 20 cases of bottled water, 10 boxes contractor-grade outdoor trash bags, 10 bottles of bug sprays, 10 bottles of wasp sprays and five First- Aid kits.
