She said she supports restoring Medicaid and nutrition program funding, reducing prescription drug costs, reinstating Affordable Care Act tax credits, protecting the environment through Everglades restoration and climate resilience projects, and pursuing comprehensive immigration reform that combines border security with a pathway to citizenship for law-abiding immigrants.
Asked why voters should choose her, Frankel pointed to what she described as a proven record of delivering results for Palm Beach County. She said her seniority in Congress and positions on key appropriations committees give her the ability to influence federal spending and advocate for local priorities, including health care, education, child care and national security. Frankel also cited her work securing federal funding for infrastructure, affordable housing, clean water, Everglades restoration, workforce training and community services, as well as assisting constituents with issues involving Social Security, Medicare, veterans benefits and federal agencies.
U.S. House District 23 candidate Victoria Doyle, Democrat
Victoria Doyle, 61, of Lake Worth Beach, is an attorney specializing in trademark law, a longtime Democratic activist and a candidate for Congress. She holds a law degree from Brooklyn Law School and a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Vermont. Her legal career includes positions with Akerman LLP, Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton LLP, and Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobsen LLP.
Doyle says her priorities include reshaping the economy to reduce the influence of corporate and special-interest money in politics, establishing a universal single-payer healthcare system, and strengthening economic opportunities for working people. She supports overturning Citizens United, raising the minimum wage, strengthening unions, expanding access to capital, and closing tax loopholes that benefit wealthy individuals and large corporations. Wade, banning partisan gerrymandering, and pursuing comprehensive immigration reform.
Asked why voters should choose her, Doyle said voters are frustrated with politicians who prioritize donors over constituents and are looking for change. She described herself as an activist focused on solving problems and taking action, arguing that Congress needs more energetic and active leadership. Doyle said she would bring a stronger voice to addressing affordability, healthcare and other pressing issues facing Palm Beach County residents.
Mark Piper, Democrat
Mark Piper did not reply to a questionnaire from The Palm Beach Post.
Information below is from his campaign website:
Mark Piper is a business owner and self-described Classic Liberal running for Florida’s 23rd Congressional District. He has more than 30 years of experience managing and operating businesses and says he has master’s-level training in accounting, economics, finance, management and statistics.
His campaign priorities center on reducing the cost of living, slowing or reversing inflation, and reforming social programs. Piper said he supports individual rights, limited government, free-market capitalism and the rule of law. He describes himself as a supporter of free-speech absolutism and school choice, and says he opposes identity politics, compelled speech, large administrative states and central planning. He argues that government should focus on protecting rights and providing oversight rather than directing social and economic outcomes.
“History and reason show that individual rights, limited government, free-market capitalism, and the rule of law are the engines of real, sustainable growth for our communities.
“I’m deeply concerned about the decades ahead. The world is becoming increasingly chaotic, and too often our elected representatives seem content to watch it unfold. We need leaders who focus on protecting our nation’s future rather than accepting endless spending without accountability, while working to reduce the cost of living, slow inflation and reform social programs.”
