An unconscious 19-year-old Winter Garden mas was pulled from the water in Ormond Beach on March 14, after witnesses say he initially cried out for help, Volusia County Beach Safety officials said.
The unidentified man, who was swimming in an area with no lifeguard around 1 p.m., appeared to be in distress. Beach Safety officials pulled him from the water and began CPR, before transporting him to the hospital.
The man’s condition remained unknown on March 15, according to beach safety officials.
