Jacksonville Jaguars first-round draft pick Travis Hunter played both offense and defense in the team’s first preseason game on Aug. 9 at EverBank Stadium against the Pittsburgh Steelers, getting all of his snaps in the first half.
Hunter caught two passes on the Jaguars’ first drive, which ended in a 41-yard field goal by Cam Little. He caught a 3-yard pass from Trevor Lawrence on third-and-four (Dyami Brown picked up the first down on a jet sweep on the next play), then caught a 6-yard pass from Lawrence on third-and-12 but was brought down and Little kicked the field goal on the next play.
Hunter had a 7-yard reception on a bubble screen, nullified by a block in the back penalty on guard Ezra Cleveland. It was his only offensive possession of the night.
Travis Hunter gets two possessions on defense

Hunter then played on the Jags’ next defensive possession, remaining at left corner. The Steelers had a three-and-out, with Antonio Johnson making a big play for a 3-yard loss on second-and-one. Hunter covered his receivers well and had no stats.
