The FSU baseball team has landed a commitment from transfer pitcher Kevin Mebil. The lefty spent last season at Barry University, a Division II school.
He entered the transfer portal on May 13 and received a ringing endorsement from Ben Terwilliger, his former pitching coach at Barry.
“Great character, coachable and the hardest worker on the field,” he wrote on X. This is a kid you WANT in your program! Can’t say enough great things about him! It was an honor to coach him! Best of luck Kev!
He appeared in 21 games, posting a 1.98 ERA over 36.1 innings, striking out 43 batters. Opponents hit .206 against him with one home run. Mebil started one game and recorded two saves.
Mebil spent one season at FAU, redshirting before transferring to Barry. He will have two seasons of eligibility with the Seminoles.
He is the third transfer that Link Jarrett has landed and the second pitcher, joining Trey Beard. They have also landed infielder Eli Putnam as they attempt to reload ahead of the 2026 season.
