Trader Joe’s will open its long awaited grocery store in Daytona Beach on Friday morning, Nov. 14, a spokeswoman for the Monrovia, California-based chain announced.
“I’m happy to confirm that Trader Joe’s Daytona Beach will open this Friday, November 14th,” wrote Nakia Rohde, public relations manager for the upscale grocery chain, in an email sent to The Daytona Beach News-Journal on Monday afternoon, Nov. 10.
The opening of the store comes 13 years after Ormond Beach Trader Joe’s superfan Jasmin Bedria started an online petition on Facebook that gathered thousands of signatures. Other local news organizations in recent weeks began publishing speculative stories on when the opening day would be. Turns out none were correct.
Where is the new Daytona Beach Trader Joe’s?
The address of the new 13,432-square-foot Trader Joe’s store is 1507-1511 Cornerstone Blvd., Daytona Beach. The store is located on the north end-cap of a row of side-by-side stores that includes a HomeSense home furnishings store still under construction, and a Sports Academy sporting goods store two doors to the south.
Dave & Barry’s is Trader Joe’s neighbor to the north on the other side of the parking lot between the two stores.
All are part of the Tomoka Town Center retail complex on the southeast corner of Interstate 95 Exit 265 that includes Hobby Lobby, Barnes & Noble and Popstroke as well as other stores and numerous restaurants.

The new store will open at 9 a.m., shortly after a ribbon-cutting ceremony by store captain Dina Bombardo and other store “crew members,” according to a media advisory.
