The 2026 college baseball season is not over, but the FSU Seminoles have lost their first player to the transfer portal. Freshman pitcher Manny Lantigua announced on Sunday that he is leaving the program and entering the portal.
Lantigua played in six games in his only season in Tallahassee, going 1-0 and recording a 1.59 ERA in 5.2 innings pitched. He gave up six hits and walked four batters, striking out six. He allowed one run in his first appearance of the season before recording 4.2 shutout innings to end the season.
He has not pitched since April 29, when he threw one shutout inning against South Florida, working around two hits. His longest outing of the season was two innings against North Florida.
The 6-foot, 197-pounder will have three seasons of eligibility at his next level. While he only pitched for FSU, he is listed as a pitcher and an infielder on their roster. The righty was ranked as the No. 7 shortstop in Florida by Perfect Game before he signed with FSU.
