Southwest Florida TikTok star Josh Wicks Robinson — better known as Omgitswicks — has more than 2 million fans online. But there’s just something special about meeting those fans in real life.
The sketch comedian and podcaster got to do just that at a recent Fort Myers Mighty Mussels baseball game. He chatted with fans, posed for selfies, threw out the first pitch and even jumped into the broadcast booth.
This was his second time throwing out the first pitch at a Mussels game. And this pitch went much smoother.
“I was ready this time,” Robinson says and laughs. “My daughter was like, ‘Dad, you’ve gotta be ready this time.’ So I had to do a little bit of practice.”
That practice paid off.
“It made it to the glove,” he says. “The first time, it didn’t even make it. It, like, bounced a little bit.”
Omgitswicks and more TikTok, social media influencers meet fans at Mighty Mussels game
The Lee County native headlined the Mighty Mussels’ first-ever Social Media Influencers Night on May 9 in Hammond Stadium. In addition to throwing out the first pitch, he took a behind-the-scenes stadium tour, held a meet-and-greet with followers and chatted in the broadcast booth with a game announcer during the livestream broadcast.
Others social media influencers at the event included:
Robinson — who grew up in Fort Myers but now lives in Lehigh Acres — says he loves meeting fans. Those are the people he says “make it happen for me.”
“It’s a lot of fun,” he says. “I get to meet everyone. … We trade Florida stories. It’s always a good time.”
More about SW Florida TikTok influencer Omgitswicks
As Omgitswicks, Robinson has racked up 1.6 million TikTok followers with his Florida-focused comedy sketches about nasty weather, snowbirds, iguanas, stupid criminals and everything else that makes the Sunshine State unique. He has another 513,000 followers on Instagram, 461,000 on Facebook and 251,000 on YouTube.
“There are things that can only be explained by saying, ‘That’s Florida,’” he said in a 2023 profile in The News-Press and Florida Today.
Robinson’s TikTok persona has been described as part tour guide and part wise uncle — explaining the unexplainable through his short skits and video clips. His characters have Florida-centric names, too, such as Mosquito, Cold Front, Fire Ant and Floridian.
And his influence extends far beyond the Sunshine State.
“People who are not Floridians want to know about Florida,” he said in 2023. “But they want to know what’s REAL about Florida, other than just the Florida Man stories.”
The May 9 baseball game saw 3,003 fans attending, according to a Mighty Mussels’ news release. That was the third-highest attendance of the 2025 season so far.
